What we do

Ventilation from concept to commissioning

Whether it is home ventilation in a new build, a retrofit in a renovated older building or an air handling unit for an office or hall: we size air volumes to standard, install units and ductwork and hand over a measured, documented system.

  • 02.1

    Mechanical home ventilation

Central ventilation unit with heat recovery for houses and flats: supply air to living rooms and bedrooms, extract air from kitchen, bathroom and WC – quiet and draught-free.

  • 02.2

    Decentralised ventilation units

Wall units working in pairs – where ductwork cannot be installed.

    Push-pull units · HR
  • 02.3

    Commercial air handling units

Air handling systems for offices, practices, restaurants and halls – designed for occupancy, loads and operating hours, with heating and cooling coils on request.

    DIN EN 16798-3
  • 02.4

    Heat recovery

Counterflow or rotary heat exchangers recover most of the heat from the extract air and noticeably reduce the heating demand.

  • 02.5

    Fire protection and airflow control

Fire dampers and fire stopping at penetrations through fire compartments, plus volume flow controllers for demand-based air volumes in every zone.

    MLAR · Fire dampers
  • 02.6

    Commissioning and hygiene inspection

Adjustment of all air outlets to the design volume flows, measurement report at handover and regular hygiene inspections during operation.

Process

How your ventilation project works

  1. Survey & ventilation concept

We check the floor plan, building envelope and use and draw up the ventilation concept: is a ventilation measure needed, and which one fits?

    DIN 1946-6
  2. Design, ductwork & quote

Air volumes per room, choice of unit, duct routing and sound insulation – summarised in a transparent quote with a bill of quantities.

  3. Installation of ducts and units

We lay the ducts, fit the unit, air outlets and fire dampers and coordinate with the drywall and electrical trades.

  4. Commissioning, measurement report & instruction

Adjustment of volume flows, measurement report, instruction on operation and filter changes, and the system documentation.

FAQ

Ventilation FAQ

F.01

Do I need a ventilation concept?

According to DIN 1946-6, a ventilation concept must be drawn up for new buildings and for renovations in which, for example, more than a third of the windows are replaced. It establishes whether the air exchange needed to protect against damp is ensured without actively opening windows.

If it is not, a ventilation measure is required. We draw up the concept and propose the right solution.

F.02

Central or decentralised – which is right?

A central system supplies all rooms from one unit via ductwork – ideal for new builds and complete renovations. Decentralised units are installed individually in the external walls and need no ducts, which makes them attractive for retrofitting existing buildings.

Which solution is economical depends on the floor plan, ceiling heights and scope of renovation. We clarify this at the on-site appointment.

F.03

How loud is a ventilation system?

A properly designed system is barely noticeable in living spaces. What matters are adequately sized ducts, silencers and low air velocities at the outlets. We design the system to meet the sound requirements of DIN 1946-6 for living rooms and bedrooms.

F.04

How often do filters need to be changed?

For home ventilation usually once or twice a year, depending on location and manufacturer's instructions; many units indicate when a change is due. Air handling units in commercial buildings are regularly inspected for hygiene according to VDI 6022. We take care of filter changes and hygiene inspections as part of maintenance.

F.05

Can ventilation be retrofitted in an existing building?

Yes. Decentralised wall units or central systems with flat ducts routed in suspended ceilings, corridors or built-in cupboards are suitable for retrofitting. During the survey we check which option involves the least intervention in your rooms.

F.06

Is there funding for ventilation with heat recovery?

Ventilation systems with heat recovery can be funded under the Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings as an individual measure on building systems. Funding conditions change regularly – before quoting, we check the current status and supply the necessary evidence.
